January 16, 2022 – Communication
Communication
All of us talk. Some too much, some too little, some to the right people, some to the wrong people. But do we really communicate? Our verbal and non-verbal communication skills tells a lot about us. Are you willing to share your inner most self with those who are the closest to you? This month, think about how you communicate with the people in your various relationship circles. Realize you must have boundaries as to who and what you share with people. We have a little saying that has proved true for years. “Always go UP in your communication.” Obviously we go UP to God first. But as you begin to open your mouth to talk make sure it is within the boundaries that you have with that person or group. For example, don’t complain about your job with co-workers. If you really want things to change take your ideas or concerns to someone who can make a difference. Also don’t share your personal problems on the job. Work is for work. Home is for home. And if you find the need for guidance in an area open up to confidential relationships that can take you to the next level of fulfillment.
James 1:9 NIV
Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.
Psalms 19:14 NIV
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Oh Lord, my redeemer and my rock.
Proverbs 25:11 AMP
A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver.
Bold Declaration:
I will keep a watch over my mouth that my words are a blessing in the lives of others. I will build and encourage those around me never tearing them down. I will honor every person I speak to with words of grace and truth.
