January 19, 2022 – LEADERSHIP
We are all called to be leaders. You lead every day by the example of your own life and how you handle things. People are always watching and deciding if they want to follow your leadership. What kind of leadership you provide will determine the behavior of others. I’ve always taken God at His Word and felt that if you are faithful in the small then God will give you more to oversee. This is paraphrased for sure. But, if you want more responsibility then be faithful in the small responsibilities entrusted to you. Patterns of leadership develop early in life, as early as childhood. Are you someone who leads or someone who is always following? In truth, you will always be both. Make sure the people you are following are the examples you want for when you are called upon to lead.
Righteousness
Hebrews 13:7( NIV) Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.
Faith
Luke 22:26 (NET) Not so with you; instead the one who is greatest among you must become like the youngest, and the leader like the one who serves.
Action
1 Timothy 3:1-5 (ESV) “The saying is trustworthy: If anyone aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a noble task. Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not a drunkard, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his own household well, with all dignity keeping his children submissive, for if someone does not know how to manage his own household, how will he care for God’s church?”
Bold Declaration:
This year, I will lead myself purposefully, by the power of Christ that lives in me. I will be an example of Godly leadership and will use the influence He gives me to further the message of the Gospel in all spheres of influence, in Jesus Name
